Leading club builder GATES Construction (GATES) has been awarded a $30 million renovation project. Located in Boca Raton, Broken Sound Club is one of South Florida’s most prestigious, 5 Star Platinum private clubs. The renovation will add dining options and increase amenities, all of which are designed to replicate and improve the unique member experience of “enjoying a life well-lived,” according to COO and GM John Crean. Managed out of GATES’ Palm Beach Gardens office, the renovation will feature a grand motor court with a dramatic sculptural fountain as its centerpiece. At the clubhouse entrance a glass-covered porte cochère will provide a large covered gathering space for drop-off and pick-up. The Broken Sound Club will offer its members and guests several new and updated dining venues with both indoor and outdoor seating choices. The new main formal dining room will have a retractable floor-to-ceiling glass wall for an open-air dining experience. A central gathering bar with a wall of 16 televisions for sporting events, and the “Thirsty Palm” restaurant will offer additional dining and social options. An addition to the clubhouse will be used to update and expand the men’s and women’s locker rooms which will include room for card and table games. The pro shop that leads into the locker rooms will also be expanded to give members and their guests a boutique shopping experience. A playground, waterpark, splash pad, and bistro will offer families a fun-filled poolside environment to enjoy year round. Other club amenities include a two acre poolscape, 38,000 square foot spa and fitness center, 23 tennis courts, four dedicated pickleball courts, two Audubon Sanctuary Certified Golf Courses, and a 18-hole miniature golf course. The Clubhouse re-imagination is from the nationally acclaimed architecture and interior design firm of Peacock + Lewis Architects LLC with an anticipated completion date of late 2021.
